Healthcare is a human right.

Unquestionable, right?

Except for approximately 44 million Americans and according to some estimates, 50% of the world population.

The next generation of healthcare professionals have the power to change these statistics. One person, one community at a time.

I want to tell you a story of hope, the marriage of science with the humanities, to understand the nuances underlying the biological and social determinants of health.

And how molding together the knowledge of Biology, Philanthropic Studies, and Latino Studies have inched me closer towards my goal of becoming a physician and a part of the larger paradigm shift towards equitable healthcare.
